Roseann Gresinger

Co-Director and Early Childhood Teacher

I have been a teacher of young children since I was a teenager. I have taught violin since I was 15 and after graduating with a Bachelor of Music, I went on to teach violin and Early Childhood music at Young Conservatorium, Griffith University for 11 years. During that time, my interest in Early Childhood Education peaked and so I undertook a Bachelor of Education. I have worked in schools and childcare but once I got the opportunity to be part of a Community Kindergarten in Brisbane, I truly found my passion.

After having children of my own, and taking some maternity leave, my family moved up to the Sunshine Coast and I was lucky enough to gain a teaching position at Palmwoods Community Kindy. I have been teaching here in some capacity since 2013 and I am so grateful to be working alongside other passionate educators and families that care so deeply.

Here in this role as Teacher and Co-Director at Palmwoods Kindergarten, I can blend my advocacy for the Arts and Sustainability into my classroom practice. I am very proud of our commitment here at Palmwoods Kindy to Sustainability and Reconciliation with our First Nations people – the Gubbi Gubbi and Kabi Kabi peoples. I believe that fostering a sense of respectful connection in children – to each other, to our land, to our community is absolutely vital to the betterment of our society.

Jacinta Lowes

Co-Director and Early Childhood Teacher

Hi I’m Jacinta and I am one of the Directors and educators here at Palmwoods Community Kindy.

I have been working in the Early Childhood sector for 16 years- with a break here and there to have and raise my own three beautiful children. I am very passionate about play based learning and feel strongly that play and creativity is a fundamental (but sometimes underestimated!) part of all our lives! I think we could all learn a lot from children’s innate inclinations to play, create and be present in each moment!

I am also a Palmwoods local and feel incredibly blessed to be on the team here at this beautiful Kindy in the heart of this wonderful town. Palmwoods is so much more than a place to live- it’s a real community in every sense of the word and it is this sense of community and stewardship that I am passionate about fostering in the children and families we share this space with. I have a love of exploring the outdoors and I love the opportunities our beautiful yard offers to really foster and create this sense of connection to land and the environment with the children. Call me a little bit old school- but I believe barefoot in nature is the way childhood should be! So I love that we can offer that here.

I believe that building positive relationships and connections with the children and families I work with is absolutely key to a wonderful kindergarten journey for all and I am honoured and privileged for the role I have in the lives of those that come join me each day in this space.

Kelly Bambling

Early Childhood Teacher

I have been working in early childhood education since 2002 and at Palmwoods Kindergarten since 2006, having time off in between to start a family. I have three boys, a husband, a dog and 4 chooks. I love spending time with my family and you can usually find us at the beach, sporting field or somewhere outdoors.

One of my favourite things about working with young children is getting to know their personality and unique individuality, and building relationships with them and their families – it’s from here that I believe a solid foundation of learning truly begins. I love seeing our young people flourish in the time that they are with us!

Our Parents

A child’s first and primary educator is their family. Our Kindy acknowledges parents as partners in a child’s education and we welcome and encourage parent participation.

Our Kindy is owned and operated by a committee of volunteer parents who oversee the kindergarten’s general operations. As a community kindy, you have the opportunity to become actively involved in your child’s early education, share your skills and expertise and build lasting family friendships.

Expression of Interest

We highly recommend that you submit an Expression Of Interest application as early as possible for the year your child is eligible to attend kindergarten. A non-refundable $10 fee is payable to the kindergarten with each submission (bank transfer details are on the application form). Applications can be emailed to [email protected] or given in-person during admin hours.

When an Expression of Interest submission and deposit has been received, your child will be added to their corresponding year. Places are offered according to their position on the waitlist.
