At Palmwoods Community Kindergarten we believe that each child is capable and competent. In line with contemporary practices of Early Childhood Education we strongly believe that children learn best through play. The development of a child’s social, emotional, intellectual, physical and creativity is best supported through play. We encourage our Kindy kids to actively explore, gain a sense of wonder and investigate their world.

Our Curriculum

We practice a play-based, emergent curriculum based on the interests and needs of individual children, which offers a wide variety of age appropriate learning experiences. It is our aim to develop individuals who have good interpersonal skills, a sense of fair play and who can respect themselves and others.

We celebrate our differences. Pre-literacy and pre-numeracy skills are explored in meaningful ways through children’s play.

C&K’s unique Building Waterfalls Curriculum and the Early Years Learning Framework guide our kindy program encouraging a play-based and child-centred curriculum.

Our Program

At our Kindy your child will develop confidence, their sense of self and beautiful friendships through consistency and stability. We have 2 groups of 22 children, Adventurers and Explorers, which each have the same 2 teachers for the duration of the school year.

Our program runs during school terms and our children complete a 5 day fortnight as follows:

Adventurers – Monday, Tuesday and alternate Wednesdays from 8.30am – 2.40pm with Roseann Gresinger and Kelly Bambling

Explorers – Thursday, Friday and alternate Wednesdays from 8:30am – 2:40pm with Jacinta Lowes and Amanda Forest

We are a single-unit, dedicated kindergarten for children that are aged between 3.5 and 4.5 years upon starting. Our team is committed to professional development and complete 1 day per term for continuous improvement and growth.

Fees

As a community Kindy we are committed to providing affordable and holistic, play-based education for the families of Palmwoods and surrounding areas. Whilst we gratefully receive State and Federal government funding, it is insufficient to provide a comprehensive kindergarten program.

Our fees are carefully considered and reviewed by our Management Committee annually with a focus on keeping our fees as low as possible. To supplement our annual budget and ensure the ongoing maintenance and improvement of our facilities and program, we also rely heavily on fundraising and grants.

Please note, payment plans are available through Debitsuccess with the choice of weekly or fortnightly payments, or for more information please ask or email our office. We provide Child Care Rebate receipts for submission by you to your Centrelink Office as well as further concessions for Health Care Card holders.
